Trinity School of Nursing Holds Class of 2023 Commencement

Trinity Health System School of Nursing held commencement exercises for the Class of 2023 on July 14, 2023.

Several graduates were recognized for excellence in academic and clinical achievements.

Michaela Bragg of Toronto, Ohio received the Dr. Dominic A. Brancazio Memorial Award for Highest Academic Achievement.

Justin Henry of Steubenville, Ohio received the THS Medical Staff Award for Second Highest Academic Achievement.

Shelby Adams of Follansbee, West Virginia received the THS Nursing Service Award for Third Highest Academic Achievement.

The Dr. Carmel Esposito Community Leadership Award was presented to Shelby Adams of Follansbee, West Virginia.

The Nancy Bright, MD Excellence in Pediatrics Award was presented to Michaela Bragg of Toronto, Ohio.

The Patrick H. Macedonia, MD Excellence in Maternal-Newborn Nursing Award was presented to Maci Rosen of Burgettstown, Pennsylvania.

Other graduates included in the commencement were:  Haylee Blackburn, Cheyann Board, Kylee Bork, Amya Davis, Marc Derek DeMattio, Steven Frank, Kira Head, Stephanie Jones, Shannon Martino, Courtney Scrip, Ashton Sell, and Lexis Smarrella.

Planned Ownership Transition

Effective approximately October 1, 2026 CommonSpirit Health will transfer ownership and control of Trinity Health System, including the Trinity Health System School of Nursing, to UPMC, doing business as University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

Trinity Health System School of Nursing’s academic programs, schedules, and policies will continue as usual, with no anticipated disruption. Further, the School’s administration, faculty and staff will continue in their roles at the School (subject to normal attrition).

We are committed to ensuring a smooth transition without disruption to your education.
